About
Liza Benner
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with couples, families, and individuals (including teens and children) to address emotional and relational challenges such as conflict, life transitions, parenting concerns, communication difficulties, anxiety, and emotion regulation. Grounded in a systems-based understanding of relationships, my approach is warm, collaborative, and direct, with an emphasis on honest conversations and meaningful progress.
In addition to my private practice, I lead parent groups and school-based groups for children and adolescents at the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Community Counseling Center, a local nonprofit providing parent education and affordable counseling. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Maryland and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University, with post-graduate training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).
I offer both in-person sessions at my Larchmont office and virtual appointments.
